Prayer Requests (vol. 1)

From now on I’m going to dedicate one day a week to posting people’s prayer requests.  In recent weeks I’ve received several private emails as well as public comments of people asking for prayers and spiritual assistance.  I thought about how to effectively share these prayer requests and then it occurred to me to set aside one blog entry a week for that very purpose.

I have two requests to post today but after this week I’ve decided that Sundays will be the bests days to do this.  Please keep this in mind for future reference and be sure that from now on if you have a request, it is emailed to me by Saturday in order to be posted on Sunday, the following day.  Also, I am going to be posting the requests exactly as they are written, as I’ll be copying and pasting them directly from the emails.  And unless you request the posting of your full name, I will only include first names in order to respect everyone’s privacy.  If there are no requests in any given week, then I will simply not include a post that Sunday.

Last month I wrote a post called Two or Three Are Gathered in My Name which includes some previous prayer requests from readers of this blog.  There is power in prayer; especially prayer that involves more than one person praying for the same intention.

“Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in Heaven. For where two or three are gathered in My Name, there am I in the midst of them.” (Matthew 18: 19-20)

Prayer Request for Broken Family

The following request is from a woman who wanted to remain anonymous. She had sent me a private email asking for prayers for her broken family.

dearest margo, first i would like to thank you for such a beautiful and awesome website.  your site and EWTN site mean so much to me!  second, i know you are extremely busy but i am desperately asking you and your readers to please help me pray for my broken family.  im 58 yrs old and had to take a early retirement due to my disability.  i have been retired for 4 yrs now.  i live with my brother and sister-in-law and back in October her youngest brother died suddenly due to his Doctor prescribing him the wrong meds.  my sister-in-law went off the deep end and starting drinking again plus she is hooked on pain meds really bad.  now come to find out she has been cheating on my brother with some kid.  ive been praying to the Holy Family to mend our broken family and all the families through out our world especially those who have no one to pray for them.  please just mention this prayer request to your readers just not my name because my brother doesnt know this latest development or however you think it should be handled.  thank you so very much Margo and may God Bless you and Mary keep you!

Prayer Request to Pray the Rosary and Help the Homeless

Below is the copy of an email I received from a man who lives in the New York City area. He encounters homeless people on his way to and from work and decided to create a blog as a way of telling their stories and directing people to a site called Part of the Solution.
