I’ve been working on my next post which will be part of the True Devotion to Mary series. There is quite a bit of reading and research that goes into writing each one of those posts, and this next one is taking a bit longer than usual.
In the meantime, people have been wondering about the demonic affliction issues that I’ve been dealing with, and lately I’ve received some comments and emails addressing that topic. I will be sure to post an update one of these days, but for now, here is a rerun from this month last year:
Demonic Infestation
Originally posted on December 5, 2010
A few months ago I wrote an article about demonic infestation and how it has been affecting my life. Yesterday things got so freaky around here that I couldn’t get to sleep last night. I posted The Missing Peace and today’s post is sort of a follow-up and an expansion on what I … [Read More...]
In response to yesterday’s post, Saint Anne’s Tears, I received a comment from Bryan, one of our readers, and an email from my mother. I hadn’t realized this when writing the post, but the attention that the little Syracuse, NY incident with the Saint Anne statue received was not only national – it was worldwide!
And in Bryan’s comment, he included a YouTube video of a song that was written about the occurrence. He said that it did well in Ireland! Meanwhile, my mother emailed me another video about the occurrence, as well as a video newsreel film from a British source.
Yesterday’s post has been updated with the change from “national” to “worldwide” attention, as well as the addition of the two videos that my mother sent me. Unfortunately, I cannot embed Bryan’s video, as the embedding has been disabled by the person who posted it. But you can click on the link that Bryan provided in his … [Read More...]

Restoring an Old Statue of the Virgin Mary
The other day I received an email from someone asking if I know where she could take an old statue of the Virgin Mary (that used to belong to her mother) to be restored. I would think that it would all depend on what the statue looks like, what it’s made of, how old it actually is, where it originally came from, etc. Does anyone know anything about this?
I considered writing her back and telling her that there is no way I’d be able to provide that kind of advice. But then it occurred to me to post her question on this blog where someone may possibly have an answer.
Here is the woman’s question:
I have a very old statue of the virgen Mary which I want to restore,
but I can seem to find a place where this will be done. It used to
belong to my mother. can

I had started working on my next True Devotion to Mary post which I’d planned to have up by the end of the weekend, but something else came along that I thought I should bring everyone’s attention to. A comment came in under Spiritual Warfare Prayers – (2) which I’d written back in July; it’s from a person in Zimbabwe named Osiman and this person said this:
thanks for the post. i am from Zimbabwe..been fighting evil spirits for years…i need your guidance…i sometimes fall sick…feel like there are things moving in my brains…i feel weak ..cant concentrate…i have tried telling other people but looks like they think I am making this up..please guide me….i know in western cultures people dont believe in witchcaft but i know what works when fighting evil beings in Europe or America works here….thank you….have included my email address..
I suppose my first recommendation for Osiman would be to seek counsel from a priest, and … [Read More...]
This is the time of year when parents and teachers of children are often asked the burning question: Is there really a Santa Claus? I remember asking that same question somewhere between the ages of nine and eleven when I first presented my mother with my Santa Claus doubts.
Along those same lines, what if a child asks about the existence of God? The other day I heard from a reader in Malaysia who is preparing himself for a career in education; he’s going to be a teacher. He asked me to either post his question on the blog for anyone to answer or to answer him privately. I don’t have any children and I’ve never been asked that question, not even by any of my six younger brothers and sisters when we were kids. It’s an excellent question, and I’m hoping there will be some feedback.
His name is Aaron Lee, and his question is:
Well, let … [Read More...]
One of our readers emailed me something that I thought you might find interesting. I’ve actually been preparing another True Devotion to Mary post which I’ll have up at some point this week. (For those of you who may not be familiar with the True Devotion series, please visit the True Devotion to Mary category on the sidebar.) The following is all about why there should be no excuses for not praying the Rosary, and I’m really happy to post this as a sort of intro to my upcoming True Devotion post:
“Dear Christian, there is no valid excuse for not practicing the daily devotion of the Rosary, and for the most part, those who make these objections and excuses are influenced by a secret unwillingness to lead a Christian life in good earnest. They are unwilling to practice retirement, detachment from creatures, and self-denial. They omit saying the beads in order to avoid the rebuke of their conscience … [Read More...]

One thing that people around the world seem to have in common these days is the search for peace. Our day and time is one of fear and anxiety; everything feels so restless. I can’t really put a finger on exactly what it is that feels different today than 15 or 20 years ago, but things are certainly different, and the world seems angry. I’ve noticed that everyone appears to be longing for a sense of peace and well-being, but I’ve also noticed that many are going about obtaining it in all the wrong ways. Sometimes I feel the urge to find a grassy field or a dark thicket and just get lost in the simplicity of a caterpillar on a blade of grass. It’s either some sort of quiet rebellion against all this noise or it’s my longing for a simpler time. I haven’t quite figured that out yet.
As Christians, we need … [Read More...]

Well, as is often the case with my posts, I needed to make a Part Two for my Search for Peace post that I wrote two days ago. In fact, I started Part Two yesterday but wasn’t able to finish it until today. (And there just may have to be a Part Three as well.) As I was writing Search for Peace, I was realizing that there really is so much to say on the topic of peace, simply because peace is at the root of all things good and all that is worthy of God’s favor.
My own personal search for peace began a long time ago, before I’d even realized it. I was young, confused and opening all the wrong doors in order to find whatever it was I thought I was seeking. As I’ve said before, it was my ego that kept getting in the way. Please understand that … [Read More...]
