I am looking forward to the priest’s visit tomorrow and hoping that he is able to rid my house of the evil spirits once and for all. Not really sure what to expect, but am confident that he will be able to bring about some positive change around here. He will be the fourth priest to come to my house since December 2009. The first two times a priest came it was to do a house blessing. The last time, which was this past June, I had a Mass said in my house by a priest from the Charismatic Renewal ministry. You can read about it here.
Evil Spirits and People’s Doubts
It’s interesting to me how many people are resistant to believing in the presence of evil spirits in a person’s personal space. It’s not as if they don’t believe that evil exists or that CERTAIN people are targeted and spiritually attacked by an evil being. But for some reason they just refuse to let go of some notion or whatever it is that causes them to dismiss the whole idea of it altogether when it relates to someone in their own life. There are even people within my own family who prefer thinking of this rather bizarre situation in my house (and car) as something like *bad energy* or a *ghost* or whatever – anything but what it actually MIGHT be: an evil spirit or evil spirits. And these are people who have been hearing about my experiences throughout the last almost three years and have been updated and filled in on all the priest activity as well. Why is it so hard for people to just plain accept and admit that a person has a diabolic entity in his or her presence? Why does it only make sense when it’s happening to some random stranger in some documentary on TV or in a book or two here and there?
Evil Spirits and Poltergeist Activity
This is the definition of poltergeist, according to Wikipedia:
A poltergeist is a paranormal phenomenon which consists of events alluding to the manifestation of an imperceptible entity. Such manifestation typically includes inanimate objects moving or being thrown about, sentient noises (such as impaired knocking, pounding or banging) and, on some occasions, physical attacks on those witnessing the events.
Some of the incidents that have been occurring in my house seem to be of or related to what someone may call a poltergeist. I’ve had objects move before my eyes (rare, but on occasion), objects move from a stationary position (once I’m out of the room), noises that sound like cracks, thumps, pops, taps, etc., a door (closet sliding door) slamming in my bedroom in the middle of the night and waking me up, a stain appearing on my wall, the sound of chains and a shovel, my basement turned into a (pardon this semi-vulgarity) feces warzone with stains all over the floor and flies buzzing around, a picture of Blessed Pope John Paul II ending up in my garbage can a day or two before his Beatification, a black cloud moving across the top of my TV screen, my water heater shutting off for no reason, my furnace shutting off, the windows in my car malfunctioning, an electrical outlet in the bathroom breaking and then working again several minutes later (which my brother the sort of Home Depot junkie says is impossible – it either breaks or doesn’t) and many other things that I can’t even think of right now. Are these evil spirits or a poltergeist or both? Or neither? I have no idea. But the intensity and frequency of so many quirky things going wrong over a span of three years seems a bit out of the ordinary to me. But what do I know.
Evil Spirits and Other Abnormal Occurrences
I’m not sure if this would be categorized as an evil spirit or a poltergeist, as it involves the sense of smell: After the priest was here last June my upstairs filled with the stench of sulfur. He told me that it was a *reaction* to his being here and saying a Mass in the house – a sort of retaliatory reaction – and that it was connected to the Devil. Was he correct? I don’t know – he’s the priest. And the smell of sulfur continued to linger on and off over a period of weeks, only the following incidents happened in the basement and downstairs bathroom. I sprayed the areas with holy water and the stench went away within minutes. Coincidence? I don’t know. Not for me to decide.
There were other foul smells, too, that seemed to follow the sulfur incidents (maybe a month or so after the sulfur attacks had ceased) and then all of a sudden the smells were gone. I was pushed to the floor one summer night as I was just walking through the house in my bare feet; my dog’s dish seemed to get yanked out of my hand one morning and kibble flew everywhere; there are the disturbances in the form of loud noises when I’m saying the Rosary (not all the time, but frequently enough); my animals have been transported from one room to another or from the outdoors to the indoors; my dog had been deeply disturbed on a few occasions to the extent that he refused to come back into the house once I took him out; physical issues in the form of headaches, stomach pains and dizziness start out of nowhere and go away as quickly as they come on; my digital alarm clock went off in the middle of the night; lights have been turned on when I had nothing to do with it, and the list goes on. In fact, on Monday morning I woke up to find two items from a built-in wall shelf in my living room having fallen from where they’d been sitting for months; one was a book which had ended up on the floor, and the other was a picture in a frame which I found face down on the shelf, knocked over and hanging off the shelf about two inches.
Getting Rid of Evil Spirits
A few hours ago the priest who is coming tomorrow called me and confirmed directions and what time he’s coming. (10:00 am) He said that he’s bringing someone with him and that if it would be ok with me, he’d like to say a Mass in my house after we talk about things for a little bit. I can’t get over his humility, his polite approach and soft, quiet manner. I’d always imagined exorcists to be somewhat old and serious and even maybe kind of scary looking. But this man is anything but: he’s young and personable and seems to be full of peace and joy. (I did see his photo online.)
It was really refreshing to have the monsignor initiate this whole thing on his own, unbeknownst to me. My father called him last week to tell him that something needs to be down once and for all about my house problems. (He called him because I wasn’t getting anywhere on my own.) The monsignor got right on the phone with Father from PA and then followed up with me, letting me know that he’d arranged to have the priest come here and get things done. He even put some money toward the priest’s travel expenses which he gave to my father in an envelope before Mass. My father didn’t want to accept it, as we were going to take care of the expenses on our own, but Monsignor insisted. I was really impressed with that gesture. Even though it’s taken nearly three years to finally get something done, I am really happy with the way this last (hopefully last) scenario of the ordeal is playing out.
I need to finish this up for now because I want to shut down early tonight. I’ll be back to do a follow-up at some point after tomorrow. Please say a quick prayer that Father from PA doesn’t have any problems on his drive. It’s a long drive – over four hours. And I’m still a bit *spooked* about what happened a few months ago after he’d made plans to come. (car accident) I guess I’m just going to leave this in the hands of Our Lady and trust that it will all roll out in the way that it’s meant to.

Hello, my name is Margo. When I was 23 years old and working as a part-time nanny in New York City I had the pleasure of caring for a little 5-year-old boy named Alexander. One day I had been overcome with sadness and in a weak moment, I found myself confiding to this little boy about a friend I couldn't find because he was lost. Alexander, quickly responded without missing a beat, “Follow a trail!” [

Absolutely, Margo. You’re not alone. In fact, no Catholic is just even if he is isolated in the middle of a desert. Those (we) who continually pray we always bring our neighbors in prayer (known and unknown).
I confess, I was one of those who believed not the subject of evil entities. But after the lecture I attended last year exorcist priests realized that this whole issue is real. But I also understood that God is stronger, God has the power, He is in charge. Margo, our prayers are with you, come out ahead of this test with a strengthened faith!
“Nada te turbe;
nada te espante;
todo se pasa;
Dios no se muda,
la paciencia
todo lo alcanza.
Quien a Dios tiene,
nada le falta.
Solo Dios basta.”
“Let nothing trouble you,
let nothing frighten you.
All things are passing;
God never changes.
Patience obtains all things.
He who possesses God lacks nothing:
God alone suffices”.

Only other real explaination Is mabye if we can see spirits and hear them and a priest,father,missionary,bishop,or ourselves is that if you read the bible did he not say the dead would rise durning the end times??? Mabye Things are closer then they seem only the father son and the holyghost know. other wise ask say aloud with your voice not yelling but loud and say I demand you in the name of jesus to banish yourself from this place in the name of the father son and holy ghost Amen.
