Diabolic Infestation

A priest is coming to my home at some point over the next week or so because he believes that it’s possible that my house has become a target of diabolic infestation.  As I’ve indicated in my previous post, I’ve had a disturbing presence in my house ever since I started praying the Holy Rosary and made the decision to turn my life around.  The first strange incident occurred way back in the early winter of 2009 when I started praying the Rosary sporadically.  Then there was nothing for a while.  But the real onset of these incidents started in November of 2009 when I made the decision to dedicate myself to not only praying the daily Rosary, but also ridding my life of all situations, people and things that are not connected to morality and holiness.

It felt like a great weight had been lifted when, months ago, I heard Father John Corapi in a speech about spiritual warfare and what can happen when a person transforms his/her life and makes a total consecration to Jesus Christ through the Blessed Virgin Mary.  It was so consoling to know that the experiences I’d been having were not that unusual for a person who was attempting to clean up her life and place all trust in God.  Father Corapi had (and perhaps still does) undergone some frightening experiences that led to sleeping with his light on, with the Rosary in one hand and holy water in the other.  He talked about how Satan has been known to rebel against a person who turns his/her life over to Jesus.  This rebellion can lead to attacks on the person which can manifest themselves in the form of either temptations or disturbing and unexplained occurrences.

A few months ago, Father Corapi was on EWTN on a show hosted by Father Mitch Pacwa called EWTN Live.  The topic of the show was about fear and how useless it is, and that what we need is trust.  I highly recommend taking a look at the YouTube video and hearing what Father Corapi has to say.

What Is Diabolic Infestation?

Diabolic infestation involves malefic activity that is directed toward places, objects and animals.  The types of places that can be affected are houses, offices, stores and fields.  Objects that can be affected include cars, pillows, mattresses and dolls.  I should mention here that I have not been directly affected by this activity, nor is anyone who is experiencing it directly affected.  People can only be indirectly affected.  But because of the nature of the attacks, lost sleep, nervousness and excessive worry can affect a person’s well-being which in turn can affect a person’s ability to function in a healthy and productive manner.  Basically, the whole experience (or rather, series of experiences, in my case) is one big pain in the neck distraction.

Examples of Diabolic Infestation

I suppose this is a good time for me to give some examples of what exactly I’ve been experiencing:

The first incident of diabolic infestation in my home which occurred back in the early winter of 2009 involved my cat.  I always put my three cats in the basement at night so that they don’t decide to wake me up for an early morning feeding at 3am, or whatever time suits their fancy.  I close the door behind them at night and let them out in the morning.  One particular morning as I was waking up I heard a meowing in my bedroom that seemed unnatural, given the fact that my three cats were supposedly all in the basement.  I got out of bed to find one of my cats, Roxanne, walking around and making the sounds that she was waiting to be fed.  I remember saying out loud to her, “How did you get up here?”  I then went downstairs to find the basement door completely shut.  As I was preparing their meal, I noticed that the throw on my armchair had fallen from the back of the chair where I always kept it draped to the seat of the chair.  When I opened the basement door to let my other two cats out, one of them, Casper, instead of heading right for his scratch post where he usually goes first thing in the morning, headed over to the throw and started sniffing it.  I decided not to dwell on the bizarre morning disruption, so I put it out of my mind until months later, when things started up again.

In November of 2009 I began experiencing more strange and unsettling occurrences that involved my house and car.  One of the incidents occurred in early February.  I had been at a loved one’s home one night to keep him company because he had called me in a frenzied panic and was experiencing severe depression and anxiety which would end up causing him to attempt suicide days later.  (In order to protect his identity I’ve changed his name.)   I sat up with John all night as he slept, praying the Rosary for peace and asking Saint Michael to watch over us.  When I returned to my home the following morning I went to use my computer and found that the mouse pad had somehow flipped upside down.  My cats simply don’t have that kind of acrobatic flair, and in the five or so years I’d been using that mouse pad not once had it ever ended up upside down.  It was actually given to me as a gift by John back in 2005.  We’d gone to the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and he wanted to buy me something reminiscent of our trip.  So when he found the New York City transit map mouse pad at the museum’s gift shop it seemed to be a perfect idea.

Also in November of 2009 I had noticed that even though I had just gotten my car cleaned, a footprint appeared out of nowhere on the passenger floor mat where no one ever sits.  The last person who sat there right before this happened was John, but his shoes were clean and left no marks after he’d left my car.  And the footprint was facing the wrong way; rather than facing forward it was facing backward.  Three months later I found John in his garage with the doors shut and the engines of both cars running.  He was sitting in the passenger seat of one of the cars, unconscious, hunched over and facing the middle of the car.  His feet were facing the same way as the footprint that I’d found in my car.  There was also a bottle of Johnnie Walker Black scotch and a glass sitting next to him.  Months earlier I had found broken glass in my cupboard underneath some glasses.  These glasses are Johnnie Walker scotch glasses and they sit unused in my cupboard.  John had brought them to my house a few years ago to keep on hand for his own personal use.

I’ve had incidents in my house in recent months of doors opening when I wasn’t there to open them.  Sometimes they are only open a crack, but it’s just enough to annoy me.  And being the type of person where everything is just so, in its own place and never moved or changed, I always know that it’s not something I did by accident or mistake.  There are several more examples of diabolic infestation that I’ve personally experienced over the last year and even up until very recently.  I just can’t possibly list them all in this post because time and space won’t allow for it.  I will pick up where I left off here in another post this week.

Diabolic Infestation or Diabolic Possession?

Please understand that there is a huge difference between the two.  Diabolic infestation does not directly affect the individual experiencing it, but diabolic possession does; it is a serious condition, but very rare.  I will talk about this more in future posts, but in the meantime please check out this interesting interview with Father Thomas Euteneuer.  He is far better equipped to discuss this topic than I am.

As I wrap this up, please understand that as long as we are in a state of grace and spiritually healthy, no real harm can come to us, especially if we turn to Our Lady for help.  She is so hated by Satan that he cowers when she is near.  And praying the Holy Rosary is one of, if not the greatest weapons against evil.  Father Corapi had once said that Satan is like a vicious dog on a short leash.  As long as you don’t get too close to him, there is absolutely nothing that he can do to you.  It’s when you open the door, even just a crack, that you put yourself at high spiritual risk and give him the welcome that he is looking for.  So slam the door in his face and keep Mary close by.
