Yesterday I wrote a post called Fatima Story and indicated that I’d continue with the rest of it in the next few posts. I have become newly attracted to the Fatima story message and simply want to share my enthusiasm with the people (you) whom I care about. It isn’t as if I hadn’t been familiar with Our Lady of Fatima all along. But I guess it’s more like I’ve taken a sort of new interest in its significance in our lives today vs. simply appreciating its mysterious appeal as viewed through a Hollywood movie that was filmed over 50 years ago.
For me, the Fatima story has become a sort of wake-up call for the world of today. It is as if Our Lady is illuminating our lives with an old story being retold with modern day insight and appeal. I’m not sure I’m making any sense here, but hopefully if you read … [Read More...]

All Catholics probably have their own individual impression of the Fatima story. By that I mean that when we hear the word “Fatima” or reflect upon its mark in history where Our Lady is concerned, a certain thought, prayer, image, statue, movie, etc. most likely goes through our minds; we immediately associate the Fatima story with whatever it is that most impressed us about Our Lady of Fatima.
When I think of the Fatima story the first thing that comes to my mind is the three children: Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta. My first exposure to the Fatima story was some time around the age of seven or eight. I saw an old movie (probably the first of the Fatima movies) that was filmed in 1952. Actually, I’m not sure there were any follow-ups, though I believe there is a new one soon to be released. I think what most interested me at that young … [Read More...]

The Fatima Message
In 1917, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to three shepherd children near Fatima, Portugal between the months of May – October. She gave these children a message for the world, warning that if people did not reform their lives, God would punish them by means of sufferings, including wars. She also asked them if they wished to offer themselves to God, which would mean enduring much suffering that He may send them as an act of reparation for the sins of mankind and the conversion of sinners. She consoled them by telling them that the grace of God would be their comfort. The children willingly accepted this suffering. Our Lady went on to tell them to pray the Rosary every day to obtain peace for the world and an end to the war.
Our Lady said:
“To prevent this, I come to ask for the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate … [Read More...]
The message of Fatima is perceived by many as to be even more important in our present day and time than it was back in 1917!
In 1916, an angel appeared to three shepherd children of Fatima to prepare them for six apparitions of Our Lady which would occur in 1917; May 13th – October 13th of that year is when Our Lady appeared. This past January I wrote a couple of posts about the Fatima story which you can read here (Part One) and here (Part Two).
Today’s post is inspired by a YouTube video that I received from one of our readers. This video features a man by the name of Deacon Bob Ellis, the national coordinator of the World Apostolate of Fatima in the United States, being interviewed by Father Mitch Pacwa on EWTN Live. I encourage everyone to watch the whole video which I’ve attached at the very bottom of this post. Not … [Read More...]
August is the Month of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and yesterday, August 6th, was not only the Transfiguration of the Lord, but also the first Saturday of this month in which I started my First Saturday Devotion.
What is First Saturday Devotion?
First Saturday Devotion is a devotion of reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary which Our Lady gave to Lucia, one of the three children of Fatima, on December 10, 1925, when she and the Child Jesus appeared to her. According to Lucia, the Child Jesus said:
“Have compassion on the Heart of your Most Holy Mother, surrounded with thorns with which ungrateful men pierce her at every moment, without there being anyone to make an act of reparation in order to take them away.”
Lucia said that Mary spoke next, saying:
“Look, my daughter, at my heart, surrounded with thorns with which ungrateful men pierce it at every moment by their blasphemies and ingratitude. … [Read More...]

Francisco and Jacinta Marto were two of the three children of Fatima that Our Lady appeared to several times in 1917. Jacinta Marto was the youngest of the two siblings and she died at age nine, shortly before her tenth birthday. Before her death, Jacinta spoke words of such a prophetic tone, full of wisdom and supernatural illumination that the person who wrote down these words, Mother Maria da Purificaçao Godinho, was awestruck. Jacinta’s last words in these conversations with Mother Godinho were full of spiritual instruction and prophecies which are still being fulfilled.
Below are the last words of Jacinta Marto which are separated, according to topics. I’ve put all of her words in bold font.
Jacinta Marto – Last Words on Priests and Rulers
The following words of Jacinta Marto are specifically directed toward priests:
“My godmother, pray much for sinners! Pray much for priests! Pray much for religious! Priests should only occupy themselves with the affairs of … [Read More...]

The following will show you how to pray the Holy Rosary step by step:
Step One – Make the Sign of the Cross
Start by making the Sign of the Cross and say:
In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
While holding the Crucifix, recite the Apostles’ Creed:
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into Hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into Heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection … [Read More...]
