August 2012

On August 14th I posted 54-Day Rosary Novena for the Election of November 6th, 2012. That post was inspired by an email that I received from a priest (Father Tom) who had helped me through a situation I’ve been dealing with for quite some time now which I’ve been writing about on this blog. My first interaction with Father Tom was via a phone conversation we had back in June, which is outlined in this post and which will explain the “situation” I’m talking about for those of who who have just started reading this blog. At that time, I hesitated to give his name, for privacy reasons, but now it occurs to me that  he probably wouldn’t object to my using his first name. By the way, I’m not familiar with a couple of the prayers in his list below, but I’m sure they are easily found on the Internet, possibly via EWTN or some other Catholic-based source. I figured … [Read More...]

The following novena was sent to me by the priest whom I spoke of in this earlier post. He’s kept me on his mailing list, sharing some wonderful prayers and other interesting information, and when I come across something that I think will be of interest to you, I post it. This novena is one of those somethings. Please read it and forward it to your friends and loved ones. But before you read the novena, first read this passage from Matthew 21: 18-22:

In the morning, as he was returning to the city, he was hungry. And seeing a fig tree by the wayside he went to it, and found nothing on it but leaves only. And he said to it, “May no fruit ever come from you again!” And the fig tree withered at once. When the disciples saw it they marveled, saying, “How did the fig tree wither at once?” And Jesus answered them, “Truly,

Lately I’ve been receiving quite a bit of mail from readers on the topic of demonic oppression. There have also been several comments posted on this blog relating to that topic. One reader in particular is asking for prayers and has given me permission to post his email with his first name, which is Raul. You will find his email posted below. Please keep Raul and his fiancée in your prayers.

On a similar note, if anyone reading this would like to share his/her experience(s) with the abovementioned topic, I would be happy to post them on this blog so that other people can hopefully benefit from learning about what you have gone through or are going through. I will say that before I posted my entry on demonic oppression, I had a really difficult time while searching the Internet for sites that are specifically dedicated to spiritual warfare and/or the various degrees of demonic harassment, the worst of … [Read More...]

I came across the following post which I wrote a year ago. Since the post is about First Saturday Devotion, and tomorrow happens to be the first Saturday of this month, I thought it might be a good idea to rerun it for those of you who who are new to this blog and may not have read it in the archives.

August is the Month of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and yesterday, August 6th, was not only the Transfiguration of the Lord, but also the first Saturday of this month in which I started my First Saturday Devotion.

What is First Saturday Devotion?

First Saturday Devotion is a devotion of reparation to the Immaculate Heart of Mary which Our Lady gave to Lucia, one of the three children of Fatima, on December 10, 1925, when she and the Child Jesus appeared to her.  According to Lucia, the Child Jesus said:… [Read More...]
