Finding peace in troubled times may seem difficult, but it’s certainly not impossible. However, before we find that peace, first we have to search for it. And in order to search for it we first have to be in a peaceful place within our own hearts. Offering a sign of peace, in whatever form that may be, is a perfect gesture of kindness and love when it is genuine and coming from the heart. But if we are to offer peace, we first have to possess it ourselves. After all, you can’t give away what you don’t already have.
If we are to search for, find and promote peace in troubled times we first have to recognize that without humility, there is no peace. I’ve read that Saint Francis de Sales said that peace is born of humility. He said that the only things that really trouble us are pride and the esteem we have for ourselves. He also said … [Read More...]

The other day I wrote a post called Father Corapi Update. It included Father John Corapi’s statement about a recent accusation made against him by one of his former employees. This accusation has lead to him being put on administrative leave from priestly ministry. There is another Father Corapi update which involves a statement made by Santa Cruz Media, the owner and distributor of Father Corapi’s CDs and DVDs. Please read the statement below.
Father Corapi Update: Santa Cruz Media Statement
Santa Cruz Media, Inc. is the owner of all of Fr. John Corapi’s intellectual property and the DVDs, CDs, and books that flow from it. We are a secular corporation and not affiliated with the Catholic Church in any way. As such, we are not under the jurisdiction of any bishop or other official in the Catholic Church, although we have the utmost respect for Church authority.
We fully support Rev. John Corapi in this terrible trial, not … [Read More...]
One of our readers sent me a very sad and disturbing Father Corapi update. After reading over the material, I then went to Father Corapi’s website and found his statement regarding a recent accusation by one of his former employees. As I read his words, I realized that, sadly, none of this really comes as a surprise. I’ve had this weird feeling over the last year or so that he will soon be the victim of some sort of attack. I’ll explain in a bit, but for now, please read Father Corapi’s statement below.
Father Corapi Update from His Website
On Ash Wednesday I learned that a former employee sent a three-page letter to several bishops accusing me of everything from drug addiction to multiple sexual exploits with her and several other adult women. There seems to no longer be the need for a complaint to be deemed “credible” in order for Church authorities to pull the trigger on the … [Read More...]

I’m reluctant to use the phrase “demonic activity” when referring to the bizarre occurrences that I’ve been dealing with in and around my house over the last several months. It’s true that up until now I’ve been under the assumption that the strange incidents have been directly linked to something diabolical and malicious. However, recently I learned that it could be something altogether different. Unfortunately, we just don’t know yet. In any case, please refer to my last post relating to this topic and from there you can access all of my previous posts on demonic activity.
Let me first say that (as most of you regular readers have probably figured out by now) whenever I write about a topic it is with the sole purpose of sharing my own personal insights and experiences and never to assert myself in such a way as to assume any sort of position of expertise. In other words, I have never and will … [Read More...]

This is the time of year when we should be remembering what Our Lord told Saint Maria Faustina regarding The Divine Mercy. He said that the Chaplet can be prayed anytime, but He specifically asked that it be recited as a novena, especially on the nine days before the Feast of Mercy. He promised, “By this Novena (of Chaplets) I will grant every possible grace to souls” (Diary,796).
As you can see, I’m doing a lot of linking back to two previous posts I wrote on this topic a while back. Please refer to those posts for a thorough explanation of The Divine Mercy and/or additional information about its purpose, the Chaplet, etc. I’m going to dedicate this post to the Novena to The Divine Mercy and include the first three of the nine days of prayers. The bold font are the words of Our Lord as He instructed Saint Faustina where to direct that particular day of … [Read More...]

It is so easy to slip into a state of fear and anxiety even though the peace of Christ is all around us. I say this with certainty because just the other day I had an experience that left me feeling worried and afraid. Instead of clinging to God, I clung to my fear and that fear magnified to the point where I ended up with little sleep, a raging headache and lost productivity in the days ahead. Emails went unanswered, work was left undone and even this blog suffered because I didn’t have the mental energy to write a post. I was a mess because I temporarily lost the peace of Christ. And when I lost that peace, I lost everything else. Read on, and I will explain.
Losing the Peace of Christ
As most of you regular readers know, over the past couple of years I’ve been experiencing some strange, unexplainable and disturbing occurrences in and around my … [Read More...]

The other day one of the readers suggested that I write about the Scapular. I have to admit, I probably should’ve covered this topic by now, and in fact had already received this suggestion from that same reader a few months ago. The Scapular is such an important element of our Catholic faith but unfortunately, it isn’t as popular as it once used to be.
What Is the Scapular?
Most Catholics have at least heard of the Scapular, even if they don’t choose to wear it. However, I’m guessing there are probably several others (maybe in the younger age groups) who have either never heard of it or who only have a vague idea of what it is and why it plays such a significant role in our salvation.
This is The Catholic Encyclopedia’s description, word for word, of what the Scapular is in terms of the actual physical definition:
It consists essentially of a piece of cloth about … [Read More...]
