February 2011

At the bottom of this post is a prayer I found by Saint Francis Xavier.  I decided to share it with you because since starting this blog last spring, I’ve become aware of many people who are either uncertain as to where they stand with their faith or who don’t even believe in God.  Saint Xavier is the saint that we can call upon in order to lead unbelievers to the Lord.  He was one of the founders of the Jesuit order of priests and is also the patron saint of missionaries.

Before I post the Saint Xavier prayer, however, I’d first like to post the Virgin Mary’s latest message of February 25th, 2011 where she appeared to the visionary, Mirjana, in Medjugorje; in it she speaks of conversions.  I also recall that in one of her messages from a few months ago she told Mirjana that we should be asking the saints to intercede for us in our … [Read More...]

Jesus as Servant

by Margo

Why am I titling my post “Jesus as Servant” when the earth seems to be on fire with anger and chaos?  Shouldn’t I (and you) be up in arms over the moral outrage, violence and bloodshed that is spilling out into every corner of the world these days?  Why am I portraying Jesus as servant rather than as the great and almighty God Who must be furious with all of the despair and distress that humanity has brought upon itself?

Here we have earthquakes, riots, moral breakdown, bloodshed, death.  And yet I’m presenting an image of Jesus washing the feet of His disciples?  How un-debonair.

Jesus as Servant Practiced Humility

I would venture to guess that now more then ever Jesus is still washing the feet of all of His disciples, desiring that humility be practiced; asking that we turn our thoughts and hearts toward holiness and abandon the angry words and actions that are fueling the fire of disaster.  … [Read More...]

I was digging through my nightstand drawer tonight and came across this old prayer card that my mother gave me when I was little.  I took photos of the actual card so please excuse its rough appearance; it’s come a long way through the years.

A Prayer to the Blessed Virgin

(Never Found to Fail)

O Most beautiful Flower of Mount Carmel, Fruitful Vine, Splendour of Heaven, Blessed Mother of the Son of God, Immaculate Virgin, assist me in this my necessity.  O Star of the Sea, help me and show me herein you are my Mother.

O Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and Earth, I humbly beseech you from the bottom of my heart, to succour me in this necessity; there are none that can withstand your power.

O, show me herein you are my Mother.  O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.  (say 3 times)

Sweet Mother, I [Read More...]

Hello. I am reaching out to you tonight for a bunch of different reasons. This isn’t a post about any one thing in particular. I just have some things on my mind that I would like to share.

Prayer Requests

First of all, we have a prayer request from a reader of this blog whose name is Cameron. Please keep Cameron in your prayers. You may have seen the request in the Comments section on my post titled Unanswered Prayer. In any case, here it is:

Jesus, please restore and secure my present job. Please reverse the Management’s decision on redundancy and retain my employment. Also I pray that I will receive excellent job offers so I will have a choice should I plan to leave on my own accord. Please pray for me Mama Mary. Intercede with me Saint Padre Pio. In Jesus name I beg thee. Amen

I’d like to ask if you would also please say … [Read More...]

According to Saint Louis de Montfort, there are seven forms of false devotion to Mary.  If you will go to False Devotion to Mary – (6) it will link you back to all of the other posts I wrote on this topic.  It took me a while, but I am finally getting to the seventh false devotion, which is that of the self-interested devotees.  This will be wrapping up the series on False Devotion to Mary.  Over the past few months since I started this series of posts, I’ve learned so much in the process of researching and writing about St. Louis de Montfort’s insights on this subject and I’ve developed a much clearer understanding of the role that the Blessed Virgin Mary plays in our lives.  I hope you have as well.

False Devotion to Mary – Self-interested Devotees

In the words of St. Louis de Montfort: “Then there are the self-interested devotees who turn to her only … [Read More...]

One Single Tear

by Margo

It was one year ago today, February 8th, 2010, that I entered my friend’s garage and found him unconscious, passed out from Johnny Walker Black and carbon monoxide fumes.  It was around 8:30 am.  I flung open the side door of the garage and found him crouched in a fetal position in the passenger seat of one of the two cars that were running.  There was a bottle of Scotch and a glass next to it sitting in the space between the driver’s and passenger’s seats.  The engines were loud and angry and the stench of exhaust filled the garage.

I grabbed hold of the passenger door handle and yanked the door open.  I yelled his name.  And then again.  The first thought in my mind when I saw him leaning there against the seat was that he was playing some sick trick on himself; maybe on the world.  Didn’t take long for me to realize that I couldn’t have … [Read More...]

Pray for Priests

by Margo

In this dark era of chaotic change and moral breakdown, we are urged to pray for priests, bishops and of course, our Pope.  I had originally planned on writing a follow-up post to my latest post which discusses diabolic infestation, but then realized that I wanted to take this in a slightly different direction.

Yesterday I read some very sad news: Father Thomas Euteneuer’s resignation as president of Human Life International was due to violations of chastity.  You can read about it here.  This priest has been heavily involved in not only the Pro-Life Movement, but also in the exorcism ministry.  I’ve referred to him a number of times in this blog in my posts concerning demonic affliction and have admired his efforts through the months.  I even planned on purchasing his book called Exorcism and the Church Militant. A few months ago my mother and I were talking about the fact that the book was suddenly … [Read More...]
